Wear appropriate protective clothing. Inform
others to keep at a safe distance. Mix with dry sand, transfer into dry
container and transport to safe, open area. Add, a little at a time, with
stirring, to a large volume of water and leave to stand until reaction is
complete. If local regulations permit, run to waste diluting greatly with
running water. Otherwise arrange for removal by disposal company. For
large spillages liquids should be contained with sand or earth and both
liquids and solids transferred to salvage containers. Any residues should
be treated as for small spillages.
Chemical residues are generally
classified as special waste, and as such are covered by regulations, which
vary according to location. We strongly recommend that you retain the
services of a licensed Waste Disposal Company to dispose of your waste.
Rinse out empty containers thoroughly before disposal or
recycling.
The containers recommended A, B, C etc allow for the
consolidation of similar types of waste prior to professional
disposal.
Residues of liquid inorganic halides and
hydrolysis-sensitive reagents should be carefully stirred a drop at a time
